Technician’s Maintenance Tip:
The Fuji Xerox IV-series machines are workhorses, but they are sensitive to waste toner buildup. When replacing the CN-Grade blade:
- Clear the Waste Path: Ensure the waste toner transport auger inside the drum unit is moving freely. If toner cannot be pulled away from the blade, it will "overflow," causing immediate streaks on your prints.
- Lubrication is Key: Do not install the blade dry. Apply a light dust of Yellow Toner or Kynar Powder to the blade edge. This prevents the blade from "gripping" the dry OPC drum and flipping during the initial rotation.
- Inspect the Charge Roller: If you still see light vertical lines after replacing the blade, check the black PCR (Charge Roller) for small spots of melted toner; these must be cleaned for a perfect result.
