Technician’s Maintenance Tip:
The Canon C5500/C5700 series uses a very high-precision charging system. To maximize the life of your Mitsubishi Gold Drum:
- Change the Blade: Never install a Mitsubishi Gold drum with an old cleaning blade. To protect the premium coating, always pair it with a new High-Resilience Polyurethane Blade.
- The "Yellow" Prime: Apply a light layer of Yellow Toner or Kynar Setting Powder to the drum surface before reassembly. This provides critical lubrication for the first few seconds of high-speed rotation.
- Sensor Reset: After installation, perform the "Full Adjust" in the machine’s Settings/Registration menu. This allows the machine's laser to calibrate perfectly to the light-reflection properties of the Gold coating.
