Technician’s Maintenance Tip:
The Canon iR-ADV C5000/C5200 series drum units are incredibly sensitive to friction. When installing this GPR-31 Old Version blade:
- Version Verification: Ensure your drum housing matches the "Old Version" mounting holes. If the blade doesn't sit perfectly flat, you will experience immediate leaking.
- Lubrication is Mandatory: Never rotate the drum against a dry blade. Apply a light dust of Yellow Toner or Kynar Setting Powder to the entire polyurethane edge. This prevents the blade from "flipping" or sticking to the drum surface during the first initialization cycle.
- Inspect the Charge Roller: If you still see light lines after replacement, check the Charge Roller (PCR) for toner buildup, as it often fails at the same time as the blade.
